What account data does StatusGator collect?
StatusGator takes pride in collecting only the information necessary to service your account. A full run down of all the data we collect is below.
StatusGator collects some information from each user who registers. This is typically one to five employees who create StatusGator accounts in order to manage your status page subscriptions.
- Email address (the only required field)
- Company name
- Company address
When each user signs in we also record the IP address and last sign in time as a means of helping us to debug.
If you pay by credit card, we also collect card information via our payment process partner, Stripe. This information includes your credit card number and expiration date. This data is not accessible to us, as it is sent directly to Stripe. If you pay by invoice, we also collect information such as your PO number. Any ACH and wire transfer payments are also made through Stripe and therefore your account details are not accessible to us.
StatusGator is a status page aggregator. It aggregates data from public cloud services and normalizes that data. When you sign up for StatusGator, you choose specific services from our list of monitored services. We store the following information about what service you choose:
- Service name and when you subscribed to it
- The notification level you desire (warn, down, none)
- The names of any components you filter your subscription to
If you choose to connect StatusGator to various integrations we make available, we collect only the information required to connect to that service at the authorization level you allow. For example, if you connect Slack, we store the Slack webhook URL, token, and channel name. If you connect SMS, we store the phone number. If you connect Teams, we store the Teams webhook URL.webhook
In addition to the direct information we collect and store as detailed above, we use several third-party analytics providers: Google Analytics and Hotjar. This data is not associated with your specific account. It's only anonymous data helps us improve the StatusGator experience.
