Remove an incident

If an incident was created by mistake or is no longer relevant, you can remove it—though this action is permanent. To preserve the history and transparency of your status updates, we recommend marking it as Resolved instead.

How to remove an incident

There are two ways to delete an incident:

  1. From the Incidents list
    • Navigate to Incidents in the left menu.
    • Find the incident you want to remove and click the three-dot menu (⋮).
    • Select Remove Incident and confirm by clicking Yes, remove in the prompt.
  2. From the Incident detail page
    • Open the incident via View details.
    • Use the same Remove Incident option (typically in the menu or header).
    • Confirm deletion when prompted.

Note that removing an incident deletes all related data permanently and cannot be undone.

Recommended alternative: Resolve instead of remove

If you'd like to remove the incident from the ongoing list but retain its history:

  1. Update the incident’s phase to Resolved.
  2. This action automatically updates affected custom monitors back to Up.

Resolving lets you maintain transparency and preserve logs for future trend analysis while clearing active alerts.
