Configure status page SSO with Google

Enable SSO on your StatusGator status page so only authorized, authenticated users within your organization can access it. This feature is available on the Enterprise plan only.

How to set up Google SSO for your status page

1. Create a dedicated SAML app in Google Admin

  1. Sign in to your Google Admin Console at admin.google.com.
  2. Navigate to Apps → Web and mobile apps.

  1. Click Add App → Add custom SAML app.

  1. Enter a name (e.g., “StatusGator Status Page”) and optionally upload your company logo, then click Continue.

Note: You must use a dedicated app for status page SSO. Apps used for account/admin SSO will not work for status pages.

2. Configure SAML settings in Google

  1. On the Google Identity Provider details page, click Download Metadata — you’ll need this file later for your StatusGator setup — then click Continue.

  1. On the Service Provider Details page, enter the following:
    • ACS (Assertion Consumer Service) URL: Use your StatusGator SSO endpoint (found in your status page SSO settings).
    • Entity ID: https://statusgator.com
    • Name ID format: Select EMAIL.

  1. Leave the remaining fields as default and click Continue.
  2. Under Attribute Mapping, add the following:
    • firstName → Basic Information > First name
    • lastName → Basic Information > Last name
    • email → Basic Information > Primary email

  1. Click Finish to create the SAML app.

3. Complete setup in StatusGator

  1. In your StatusGator dashboard, go to your Status page → Privacy tab → SAML SSO section.
  2. Fill in the form using the details from your Google SAML metadata:
    • Identity Provider Entity ID – Google’s Entity ID
    • Sign On URL – Google’s SSO URL
    • Sign Out URL – Google’s Logout URL (if available)
    • IDP Certificate – Paste the Base-64 encoded certificate from Google metadata

  1. Click Save to enable Google SSO on your status page.

4. Grant access to users

  1. In your Google Admin Console, open the newly created SAML app.
  2. Under User access, assign it to the appropriate users or groups in your organization.

Now, when anyone in your organization visits your status page URL, they’ll be authenticated automatically via Google SSO.
