Configure status page SSO with Azure
Enable SSO on your StatusGator status page so only authorized, authenticated users within your organization can access it. This feature is available on the Enterprise plan only.
How to set up Azure SSO for your status page
1. Create a dedicated enterprise app in Azure
- Log in to your Azure account as an admin and navigate to Enterprise applications.
- Click New application, then choose Create your own application. Name it (e.g., “StatusGator status page”) and click Create.
- In the app overview, go to the Setup single sign-on section and choose SAML.
Note: You must use a dedicated enterprise app for status page SSO. Apps used for account/admin SSO will not work for status pages.
2. Configure SAML settings in Azure
- Choose Edit in the Basic SAML Configuration section.
- Configure the following fields using values from StatusGator:
- Identifier (Entity ID) → Azure’s Issuer/Audience URL
- Reply URL / Sign-on URL / Sign-out URL → use StatusGator’s SSO Endpoint
- Save your configuration.
- Under the SSO settings, locate and note the following values:
- Microsoft Entra Identifier (Azure AD’s issuer URL)
- Login URL (SSO URL)
- Logout URL
- Certificate (Base 64) – Download the Base-64 encoded certificate file for StatusGator configuration.
3. Complete the setup in StatusGator
- Go to Status page → Privacy tab → SAML SSO section in StatusGator.
- Fill in the form using values from your Azure app:
- Identity Provider Entity ID – Azure’s Microsoft Entra Identifier
- Sign On URL – Azure’s Login URL
- Sign Out URL – Azure’s Logout URL
- IDP Certificate – Copy and paste the Base-64 encoded certificate from Azure
- Click Save to enable SSO on your status page.
4. Grant users access
- In Azure, open your enterprise application and navigate to Users and groups.
- Add the users or groups who should be able to access your status page.
Now, when anyone within your organization visits the status page URL, they’ll be authenticated automatically via Azure SSO.
