Send alerts to different Slack channels
StatusGator can send alerts to more than one Slack channel by using boards. Each board in your StatusGator account can be connected to a different Slack channel, making it easy to route updates to the right team or department.
For example:
- Your engineering board can send alerts to a private #engineering channel.
- Your support board can send alerts to a public #support-updates channel.
How it works
- Each board supports one Slack channel.
- To send alerts to multiple channels, you’ll need to create additional boards.
- You can customize the monitors in each board so that only relevant services send updates to the selected channel.
Setting up alerts for multiple Slack channels
- Create a new board (for example, “Support Team” or “Engineering Team”).
- Add the monitors you want to track on that board.
- Go to Integrations → Chat.
- Click Add next to Slack.
- Authorize the connection if you haven’t already.
- Choose the Slack channel where you want that board’s alerts to be delivered.
- Save your settings and send a test notification to confirm.
Repeat these steps for each board you want to connect to a different Slack channel.
Example use cases
- Support team: Get updates on customer-facing services in the #support-updates channel.
- Engineering team: Receive early warnings and outage alerts for backend services in a private channel.
- Ops team: Track infrastructure-related services in their own dedicated channel.
This flexibility ensures that each team only sees the alerts relevant to them, reducing noise and improving response time.
