Configure admin SSO with Azure

StatusGator supports Single Sign-On (SSO) via SAML 2.0 with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). This integration allows users to sign in using their Azure credentials and provides a seamless, secure authentication experience.

Benefits

  • Centralized access management using Azure AD credentials
  • One-click login from the Azure portal
  • Simplified user access through identity provider (Azure AD) control

Note: Only service provider–initiated SSO is supported. Identity-provider-initiated SSO (logging in from Azure first) is not supported. Users must be invited to StatusGator using their email address before they can use SSO.

Set up Azure SSO

In Azure AD

  1. Log in as an admin and navigate to Enterprise Applications in the Azure portal.
  2. Click New application, choose Create your own application, name it (e.g., “StatusGator SSO”), and click Create.

  1. Go to the Single Sign-On section and select SAML.

  1. Configure the following under Basic SAML Configuration:

  1. Save your changes.
  2. Under the SSO settings, locate and note the following values:
    • Microsoft Entra Identifier (Azure AD’s issuer URL)
    • Login URL (SSO URL)
    • Logout URL
    • Certificate (Base 64) – Download the Base-64 encoded certificate file for StatusGator configuration.

In StatusGator

  1. Log in as an admin and navigate to Team Management → Authentication Options.
  2. Enable the Single Sign-On (SSO) option.
  3. Fill out the SSO configuration fields using values from Azure AD:
    • Identity Provider Entity ID – Microsoft Entra Identifier
    • Sign On URL – Azure Login URL
    • Sign Out URL – Azure Logout URL
    • IDP Certificate – Paste the contents of the Base-64 certificate file
    • Leave Fingerprint and Algorithm fields blank if not needed

  1. Click Save to complete setup.

After setup, ensure users are granted access to the Azure enterprise application so they can sign in via SSO.
