Pause ping monitor
Need to temporarily stop tracking a host without removing it entirely? Use the Pause Monitor feature to halt status updates while keeping the monitor in your list.
Why use pause monitor?
- Ideal during scheduled maintenance or planned downtime, so you avoid unnecessary alerts.
- Prevents repeated notifications during intermittent network issues that you’re already aware of.
- Lets you keep the monitor configuration intact so you can easily resume later.
How to pause a ping monitor
- Go to Monitors in the left menu.
- Find the ping monitor you want to pause.
- Click the three-dots menu (⋮) next to the monitor’s name.
- Select Pause Monitor.
- The monitor will be greyed out and display a pause icon.
- It stays in your list so you can restart monitoring anytime.
- On your status page, the last known status remains visible but no new updates are recorded, and subscribers will not receive notifications.
How to resume monitoring
- Go back to the Monitors list.
- Locate the paused ping monitor.
- Click the three-dots menu (⋮).
- Select Resume Monitor.
Monitoring will resume immediately from where it left off.
