Monitor regions for website monitors
StatusGator runs checks from multiple global locations to ensure accurate and resilient monitoring of your websites and services.
Available regions
We currently offer these monitoring locations:
Region | Hostname | IP address | Hosted in |
---|---|---|---|
US East | monitor-us-east.statusgator.com | 34.230.98.138 | AWS us-east-1 (N. Virginia) |
US West | monitor-us-west.statusgator.com | 54.200.177.208 | AWS us-west-2 (Oregon) |
EU West | monitor-eu-west.statusgator.com | 34.250.135.124 | AWS eu-west-1 (Ireland) |
AU East | monitor-au-east.statusgator.com | 54.153.216.98 | AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) |
UK East | monitor-uk-east.statusgator.com | 3.10.66.24 | AWS eu-west-2 (London) |
You can select one or more of these when configuring website or ping monitors.
Alerting rules
You can choose how StatusGator determines that a monitor is down:
Alert if ALL locations are down (default)
Marks a monitor as down only if every selected region fails — reduces noise from temporary network issues.
Alert if ANY location is down
Marks a monitor as down even if a single region fails — ideal for geographically distributed or load-balanced setups.
Why this matters
- Improved resilience: Isolate real outages instead of reacting to regional network issues.
- Geographic relevance: Detect performance issues near your users faster.
- Regulatory benefits: Hosting checks in-region (e.g. UK East) can help with data residency and compliance.
How to select regions
When configuring a website or ping monitor:
- In the Settings tab, find the Check locations section.
- Select one or more regions from the list.
- Choose the alert rule (ALL or ANY) based on your needs.
