Ping monitor overview

A Ping monitor continuously checks the availability of an IP address or hostname by sending ICMP ping requests. This helps you ensure servers, devices, or other infrastructure are online and responsive.

Open the monitor details

  1. Go to Monitors in the left menu.
  2. Find your ping monitor.
  3. Click the monitor name or the three-dot menu (⋮) and select View details.

This opens the monitor details page, where you can see history, metrics, and take actions like pause or check now.

Monitor details tabs

History

  • Displays a log of past incidents detected by the ping monitor.
  • Includes:
    • Incident name
    • Posted date
    • Duration
    • Severity
    • Details

History can be shown in Table View or Calendar View.

Metrics

  • Shows availability and performance statistics over time.
  • Includes:
    • Availability % and Downtime % for the selected period.
    • Response times chart with per-region trends.
    • Average, maximum, and minimum response times by region.

Use this view to analyze latency or regional performance issues.

Remove or pause a ping monitor

If you no longer need the monitor:

  • Go to the General tab in configuration and click Delete monitor, or
  • From the Monitors page, open the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the monitor and select Delete Monitor.

If you want to stop monitoring temporarily, choose Pause Monitor from the same menu instead.
