Status page caching and refresh rates
StatusGator status pages and monitors update automatically at different intervals depending on where and how you view them. Here’s how often data refreshes and what to expect when monitoring service updates.
Status page refresh rate
Default refresh interval: For high availability and performance, StatusGator status pages are cached at the CDN layer and update automatically every 2 minutes (120 seconds).
Manual refresh: If you are seeing outdated information, you can try to manually refresh the page using Ctrl+R (Windows/Linux) or Command+R (macOS) but you may need to wait a minute for the content to update.
Embeds: If your status page is displayed using an embed or the TV integration, it also is cached for 2 minutes at our CDN. These pages also automatically refresh every 60 seconds to keep information up to date.
Custom refresh: On your status page, users can manually change the refresh interval from the status page settings menu.
Options include:1 minute
5 minutes
15 minutes
1 hour
Never (default setting)
Note: The refresh interval is set per user and defaults to Never. If left unchanged, your browser will not auto-refresh the page.
Data collection and update cycles
StatusGator collects and updates monitoring data continuously depending on the monitor type:
Service monitors: Checked every 5 minutes.
Website and ping monitors: Default to 5-minute intervals, but you can adjust them as low as 1 minute.
Early Warning Signals: Processed continuously in real time, based on signals received from user reports and external data.
Tip: Service monitors are fixed at a 5-minute interval, while website and ping monitors give you more flexibility for high-frequency monitoring.
What this means for you
Expect your changes and new incidents to appear on your status page within a couple of minutes (usually under 2 minutes).
If updates seem delayed, try manually refreshing or adjusting the refresh interval.
Use the StatusGator API for the most precise, real-time data retrieval — it returns the latest collected data immediately after fetching.
The TV integration remains the best option for continuous live display with automatic refresh every 60 seconds.
Keeping these refresh intervals in mind helps ensure you and your users always see the latest service status and incident information.
