Connecting StatusGator to Better Uptime

The Better Uptime integration automatically creates incidents in your Better Uptime account when a monitored service experiences downtime. This helps your team streamline incident response by opening, updating, and resolving incidents without manual work.

Features

  • Automated incident creation – Issues are created automatically in Better Uptime when a monitored service goes down.
  • Detailed incident information – Incidents include error messages, affected components, and direct links to the service’s official status page and your StatusGator board.
  • Automatic resolution – When the service recovers, the incident is automatically resolved in Better Uptime.

Set up the Better Uptime integration

  1. In your Better Uptime account, go to Integrations → APIs.

  1. Generate and copy your API token.

  1. In StatusGator, go to Integrations → Incident Management → Better Uptime → Add.
  2. Paste your API token into the API key field.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Send a test notification to confirm everything is working.

What happens next

Once connected, StatusGator will monitor your services and trigger incidents in Better Uptime automatically:

  • When a service is marked Down, an incident is created in Better Uptime with all the details.
  • If available, error messages and affected components are included as comments in the incident.
  • Each incident contains direct links to the original status page and your StatusGator board.
  • When the service recovers, the incident is resolved automatically in Better Uptime.
