Set alert sensitivity for website monitors

StatusGator lets you define how many retries should occur before an alert is sent—helping you minimize false positives while still ensuring timely notifications.

How to configure alert sensitivity

  1. Navigate to Monitors from your left menu.
  2. Select a Website monitor, or add a new one.
  3. Click Configure, then go to the Settings tab.
  4. Locate the Alert sensitivity option.
  5. Choose your preferred retry setting:
    • None (default) — Alert immediately on the first failure.
    • 1 retry — Trigger only after two consecutive failures.
    • 2 retries — Trigger after three consecutive failures.
    • 3 retries — Trigger after four consecutive failures.
  6. Click Save to apply the change.

Note: Retries occur immediately after a failure. For example, if your interval is set to 5 minutes and you set “3 retries,” the alert will fire as soon as there have been 4 consecutive failures—not after 20 minutes.
