Configure status page SSO with Okta

Enable SSO on your StatusGator status page so only authorized, authenticated users within your organization can access it. This feature is available on the Enterprise plan only.

Set up Okta SSO for your status page

1. Create a dedicated SAML app in Okta

  1. Log in to your Okta Admin Console.

  2. Navigate to Applications → Applications and click Create App Integration.

  1. Select SAML 2.0, then click Next.

  1. Enter a name for the app (for example, “StatusGator Status Page”) and optionally upload your company logo. Click Next.

Note: You must use a dedicated app for status page SSO. Apps used for account/admin SSO will not work for status pages.

2. Configure SAML settings in Okta

  1. In the SAML settings, configure the following fields:

    • Single sign-on URL: Use your StatusGator SSO endpoint (found in your Status Page → Privacy → SAML SSO section).

    • Check both Recipient URL and Destination URL.

    • Audience URI (SP Entity ID): https://statusgator.com

    • Name ID format: EmailAddress

    • Application username format: Email

  1. Under Attribute statements, map the following:

    • first_nameuser.firstName

    • last_nameuser.lastName

    • emailuser.email

Make sure the email attribute is included — StatusGator requires it for SSO.
  1. Review the settings and click Finish.

  1. Open the Sign On tab in your new Okta app.

    • Locate the Identity Provider metadata section and click View Setup Instructions.

    • Keep this page open — you’ll need these details for StatusGator setup.

3. Complete setup in StatusGator

  1. In your StatusGator dashboard, go to your Status Page → Privacy tab → SAML SSO section.

  2. Fill in the form using your Okta app details:

    • Identity Provider Entity ID – Okta’s Issuer URL

    • Sign On URL – Okta’s SSO URL

    • Sign Out URL – Okta’s Logout URL

    • IDP Certificate – Copy and paste the Base-64 encoded certificate from Okta metadata

  1. Click Save to enable Okta SSO for your status page.

4. Grant access to users

  1. In Okta, open your new StatusGator Status Page application.

  2. Go to the Assignments tab.

  3. Add the users or groups who should have access to your status page.

Now, when anyone in your organization visits your status page URL, they’ll be authenticated automatically via Okta SSO.
