Configure a website monitor

After adding a website monitor, you can customize its settings to match your needs. You can change its URL, name, description, monitoring frequency, timeout, alert sensitivity, and more.

Open the configuration menu

  1. Go to Monitors from your left menu.
  2. Find the website you want to update.
  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side.
  4. Select Configure.

Configuration tabs and options

General tab

  • Website URL – The address StatusGator will check.
  • Display Name – The name shown in your monitor list.
  • Description – Add a short description for internal context or for status page visitors. Once saved, the description appears as an info icon next to the monitor name — viewers can hover over it to read your note.
  • Icon – Upload a custom PNG, JPG, WEBP, or GIF (up to 500KB).
  • Delete monitor – Remove the monitor if you no longer need it.

Tip: Use a descriptive name and icon so your team can recognize the monitor at a glance.

Go to the Monitors page, click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the website monitor, and select Pause. You can resume it anytime from the same menu.
