Connecting StatusGator to PagerDuty

The PagerDuty integration ensures that incidents are automatically created in PagerDuty whenever a monitored service in StatusGator experiences downtime. This helps teams respond faster and stay informed.

Features

  • Automated incident creation – when a monitored service goes down, StatusGator opens an incident in PagerDuty.
  • Detailed incident context – incidents include the affected service’s name and a direct link to the corresponding status page in StatusGator.
  • Auto-recovery resolution – once a service recovers and is marked up, PagerDuty incidents are automatically resolved.

Set up the PagerDuty integration

  1. In PagerDuty, go to Services → Service Directory and click New Service.

  1. Name your service, then follow the prompts in steps 2 and 3 to configure escalation and settings based on your team’s preferences.

  1. Under Integrations, enable Events API V2, scroll down and click Create Service.

  1. Copy the Integration Key provided.

  1. In StatusGator, go to Integrations → Incident Management → PagerDuty → Add.
  2. Paste the integration key into the field in StatusGator and click Save.

  1. Send a test notification to confirm everything is working.

What happens next

  • When a tracked service transitions to Down, StatusGator triggers an incident in PagerDuty with relevant details.
  • Once the service recovers, the incident is marked Resolved automatically.
