Create and manage your StatusGator account
You can create a StatusGator account quickly and start monitoring services right away. Our onboarding process guides you step by step to set up your first board and monitor.
Create your account
- Go to statusgator.com and click Sign up.
- Enter your details (first name, last name, work email, company name, and password).
- Click Start 14-day free trial.
- No credit card is required.
- The free trial lasts 14 days and you can cancel anytime.
- Check your inbox and confirm your email by clicking the verification link.
- You won’t be able to log in until your email is confirmed.
- After confirmation, return to statusgator.com, click Log in, and sign in with your email and password.
Quick onboarding: add your first monitor
As part of the onboarding process, you’ll be prompted to set up your first monitor. This only takes a minute:
- Search for a service you want to monitor, or pick one from the suggested list (e.g., Zoom, AWS, Slack, GitHub, Google Chat).
- Select the service, then click Next.
- Filter components: decide how you want to receive notifications.
- Monitor all components – get alerts for every part of the service.
- Filter to specific components – focus only on the components that matter most to you (for example, APIs, databases, or regional services).
Note: Filtering is important because it helps reduce noise and ensures your team only gets alerts for the systems you actually rely on.
- After making your selection, click Next to finish.
Complete setup
Once your first monitor is set up, you’ll arrive on the Monitors page in your board. From here, you can start shaping your monitoring environment:
Add more monitors at any time to cover additional services.
Filter components to fine-tune notifications and cut down on noise.
Connect integrations such as Slack, Teams, Discord, Email, SMS, and more.
Customize your status page with branding, a custom domain, and subscriber management.
Add additional boards if you need to organize monitors by team, department, or project.
The number of boards available depends on your StatusGator plan.
This page becomes your central hub for monitoring and keeping your team informed.
Manage your account
You can update your personal details, password, and security preferences directly from the Profile page in StatusGator.
Access your profile
- Click your avatar in the top-right corner.
- Select Your Profile from the dropdown menu.
Update your details
On the General tab you can:
- Change your first and last name.
- Update your email address.
- Set a new password (requires confirmation).
- Delete your profile if necessary.
Be sure to click Save after making changes.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)
On the Two-Factor Authentication tab you can:
- Enable or disable 2FA for added account security.
- In some cases, your organization may require 2FA and you will not be able to disable it.
