Editing an incident

If you made a typo when publishing an incident, you can edit some of the incident details without worrying about additional notifications to your Status page users. The editing options are limited to:

  • Renaming the incident
  • Changing the Incident details text

For more substantial changes, such as modifying affected monitors or incident phase, we recommend using the "Adding incident update" feature. In this case, your subscribers will optionally be notified of these changes.


To edit incident details, navigate to the Incident page by clicking on the "View details" option in the context menu.

On the incident page, click on the pencil icon next to the incident name to start editing. Once you're done, be sure to save your changes by clicking on the checkmark icon or press ↵ Enter on your keyboard.

To edit the incident description, locate the incident update in the Incident details section that you want to edit. Click on the pencil icon next to it, and edit the description text on the following page. Then, save your changes. Don't worry, these edits will not trigger notifications to subscribers.

4. Once you are done editing the details, hit Save.
