Monitoring Your Own Website

StatusGator can aggregate the status of any website into your board and status page with our direct monitoring feature, a feature useful for monitoring internal tools, your own website, or other services without status pages.

Here's how:

1. Simply click Add Monitor in the upper-right and choose Website Monitor:

2. Enter the name and URL of the website you wish to monitor. StatusGator will check it every 5 minutes and show its status in your dashboard. You’ll see it on your internal board and your public board, just like any other service. This feature is perfect for monitoring your own website or any infrastructure you have.

3. You can configure the service by clicking 3 dots next to this website monitor. Here, you can change display name, URL, add description and website icon.

4. On the Settings tab, you can:

Choose the service update frequency, enabling you to check your site's status every 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 minutes.

Keep track of uptime or search for particular content, and receive alerts indicating whether the content is discovered or not.

• Check specific locations (US West, US East, EU West, AU East)

• Choose response code that indicates successful request

You can also use advanced settings such as indicating specific HTTP methods (GET, PUT, PATCH, POST), configuring basic HTTP authentication, and setting a timeout – the maximum amount of time (in seconds) you're willing to wait for a response before considering the service down. This timeout option helps fine-tune your monitor’s sensitivity to downtime, allowing for more accurate tracking.
