Limiting notifications to major incidents

StatusGator normalizes vendor incident statuses into one of three categories:

  • Down (Major Incidents) — typically labeled as Outage, Downtime, or Major Incident (often shown in red).
  • Warn (Minor Incidents) — includes Partial Outage, Degraded Service, Minor Incident, or Informational alerts (usually shown in yellow or orange).
  • Maintenance — scheduled maintenance with low impact.

To only receive alerts for Down / Major Incidents, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Monitors page and find the monitor you wish to update.
  2. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to it and choose Configure.
  3. Switch to the Notifications tab.
  4. Check only the Major Incidents box and uncheck others. Click Save.

Note: If the service provider doesn't differentiate incident types—or only provides minimal data—all incidents may be grouped as Warn. In such cases, the Major Incidents option won’t be available for that monitor.

You can also apply these notification settings across all monitors in your board. Navigate to Board Settings → Monitor Notifications and update choices in bulk.
